The POSEIDON pilot project of Genoa targeted the most inhabited area of the Scrivia valley and has intended to enhance the quality of life of the urban centres located along the Scrivia river, by the restoration of the natural and physical elements of the river environment. The implementation of projects focussed on the improvement of public facilities, the co-ordination of cultural actions, sports and leisure.
"The logo for “Vallescriviva” master-plan is a man walking on stilts and his image reflects on the Scrivia river surface. This symbol is strongly linked to the history of this territory, a symbol that alludes to the ancient difficulty of travelling, when the watercourse flooded the foot of the valley and the only way "to pass the water" was on stilts. Our pilot project wants to be "a pair of stilts" in order to transform the Scrivia in a place of aggregation for all the municipalities overlooking the river."
