Pilot project area Geuzenveld-Slotermeer is a post-war expansion area of Amsterdam, designed according to the set-up of the General Expansion Plan (AUP) of 1928 with approximately 18,000 dwellings and 40,000 residents. Geuzenveld-Slotermeer consists for the greater part of porch flats from the 1950s and 1960s. Although many people still live and work there to their satisfaction, there is a gradual process of obsolence developing. Strenghts and weaknesses of the area offer at the same time improvement and innovation.
