The POSEIDON Project Working Group to be held in Genova from June 8-11, 2005 will work on issues related to projects improving the socio-economic situation in deprived neighbourhoods. As all learning processes are based on live experience, the venue of the meeting is located inside the target area of the Provincia di Genova partner, "Valle Scrivia". The programme of the meeting will cover a wide range of activities: Interregional guests will gain close insight into current problems, opportunities, threats and living conditions of the inhabitants. The "masterplan - Valle Scrivia viva ", compiling the proposals of local activities and projects, will be presented by local authorities and associations. Discussions at thematic desks will focus on strategic and other relevant issues of ongoing work. The meeting will also constitute the final event of the current projects phase and will - as an introduction - also launch implementation of the POSEIDON local projects and pilot activities, also linked to the other co-operation themes of POSEIDON. Pilot projects have been prepared since June 2004 and are to be implemented during the upcoming working phase beginning in July 2005. To be held in parallel with the meeting on June 10, a press conference chaired by the representatives of the Lead Partner will support the dissemination of information about the POSEIDON meeting to a wide audience of local and regional media.
